Bread Rolls

Ingredients:

  • 14g dry yeast (2 sachets)
  • 70ml milk
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons plain flour
  • 1kg plain flour
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 litre lukewarm water
  • 1 egg (optional)
  • sesame seed or semolina (optional)
Method:
  1. Dissolve yeast in lukewarm milk, combine with sugar and flour and let stand for 5 minutes.
  2. Sift flour and salt into a warm basin and make a bay.
  3. Pour dissolved yeast in the bay - add lukewarm water and work the dough until the required consistency is achieved.
  4. Place dough on table - knead until smooth and elastic (10min).
  5. Cover and rest dough in a warm place for 30 minutes. The dough should double in size during resting period.
  6. Knead the dough again to knok it back to its original bulk.
  7. Cover and rest dough in a warm place for a further 20 minutes.
  8. When double in size - knockdown the dough and scale into 100g pieces.
  9. Mould into shape, dip into egg wash and then semolina or sesame seeds.
  10. Place on a baking try - allow to double their size.
  11. Place try in a preheated oven 210' c and bake for 30 minutes.
  12. Cool on wire rack.
