Beef Bolognese Sauce

 

Bolognese Sauce

 
  • 400g minced beef
  • 150g streaky bacon
  • 20ml olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 stick celery, chopped
  • 1 tbsp tomato pure
  • 2dl red wine
  • 5dl beef stock
  • 40g grated parmesan

 

 
  1. Heat the oil add bacon, onions, celery and garlic and cook without colour.
  2. Add beef, season with salt and pepper and cook until lightly coloured, mixing frequently.
  3. Add to the pan tomato pure, wine, and stock. Mix together, bring to the boil and simmer gently for one hour.
  4. Adjust the seasoning as necessary. Serve on hot plate with pasta of you choice and grated parmesan.
